together to tour Italy and represent Australia,

as the official IFBT Sandflies Australian Beach

Tennis Team

.

We are happy to say that they are united and fired

up team who are set to take on the mighty of the Italians,

French and Germany, just to name a few!

With a great summer season and our first season

at Port Melbourne is coming to an end. We are

very pleased with the growth and support of

beach tennis in the region, and thank those who

all made it possible.

As sometimes it can be difficult to compete with all

the fantastic things to do and cafes to sip lattes in, it

was great to see new players emerging and having fun!

2008/09 is set be even bigger, with many new initiatives

on the drawing board.  Watch out other states beach

tennis is coming to you!

Over the period we have seen many schools adopt

the sport, and team building and corporate days have

been a roaring success!

As the spring of 08 is just around the corner, get

practising as Twilight season will begin again in September!

Well the groundswell has begun, and with several internationals already confirming their entry for the 3rd Australian Championships in 2009, we are very excited.

This years Australian International Beach Tennis Championship dates are January 16-18, 2009.

          Open, Men, Women, Masters and juniors event.

Last years event was a further confirmation, of what you can

do if you strive to build something of meaningful proportions.

And with all those players, families, friends and sponsors who supported the 2008 event, we are proud to say we are climbing the hill, and rounding the corner.

We look forward to seeing again our international friends who

are returning to Australia to compete in great sporting spirit

against their Australian counterparts. In an effort to wrestle

their titles from hungry and fierce new challengers,

we wish them luck.

We are excited at the prospects of the 2009 event, and look forward to a bigger and better event than the previous years,

to take place on Australian shores.

We welcome new sponsors and supporters of beach tennis,

and their involvement. We will see great support and pride

to be involved with beach tennis in Australia.

As the profile of beach tennis takes a greater leap forward

we are sure to see more lead up and tournament series events

for all abilities, standards and ages.

It's easy to sit on your hands, take up the challenge and do something you've never done before.

       This is a sport that will rock your world if you let it!!
