Bringing home the silverware!!!!

With 12 countries, the highest ever showing, it was probably the sweetest achievement, as the game goes to the next level.The standard of play is rising, as new countries take on the sport and aim to stamp their mark, and see the movement of beach tennis progress forward.

Whilst there were amazing performances by individuals, it all came back to a total team effort, and the ability to gel and bond, there was lots of love in the room. It is still great to see that retail therapy can ease the nerves and bring out the best!! Well done Mel and Belinda.

We look now to the future of the sport and congratulate the team of 08.

Teams: Mixed teams of 4 (minimum 1 woman).

Schedule:  4 week/4 teams finals in week 4

Cost: $60 per player.  All payment on first week, responsible for own fills -ins.

As we now set our sights towards the 3rd Australian International Beach Tennis Championship from January 16- 18, 2009, we are very excited as to what the future holds.

The '09 Championships will raise the bar!

With the Australian Open commencing the Monday after the tournament we hope to see many new and international players capitlaising on the benefits of being in Melbourne at this time.

The sport is developing in leaps and bounds and we look to seeing 5 or more nations here in 09, to attempt the tilt of the Australian titles, in the Men's and Womens divisions.The Juniors will also take the court on Friday the 16th, and on the back of last years success, we hope to see the new breed of beach tennis player emerging. Come and give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

Australians are learning more about the sport and we are now a growing nation and who will develop future champions. So much so, that we are heavily involved working with other countries to ensure growth and  the future. This will one day achieve the dream of Olympic competition! WOW!
